Steven Knight is the mind behind Peaky Blinders.

And we’re counting down the days until the film hits our screens.

Now we have House of Guinness to look forward to!

VIP Magazine got to speak to Steven ahead of the show hitting Netflix and he teased what he hopes fans take away from this show.

“I hope that the grit and the warmth. These are real people who are being portrayed; their story goes on. The story of the Guinnesses continues to this day,” he tells us.

The cast is truly incredible from young stars like Anthony Boyle and Niamh McCormack to Irish veterans including Dervla Kirwan and Michael McElhatton.

“It’s self-evident that it’s preferable. And just by good fortune, there is a generation of actors that are coming through,” he enthused about the brilliant stars of the show.

“What was important was that the actual people, the Guinness children, when the show takes place, they’re in their twenties. I have kids that age, and I had to ask what they would do. If they got left this fortune and vast responsibility. So it was important to get people of that generation to play the roles. To know that they have responded so well.”

Of course, there will be plenty of Peaky Blinders comparisons to House of Guinness. One big difference is that the Guinness family is real and while Steven says Peaky Blinders is based on “some real people who were members of my family”, it is mostly fictional.

So what is the difference between fiction and historical fiction?

“But you have to know the responsibility and then try to ignore it. Otherwise you would die of fright. You have to just write it and get the characters right.”

House of Guinness starts streaming on Netflix on September 25th
