Who Won Miss Universe 2025? Why Miss Mexico's Win Is Such a Perfect Moment

The 2025 Miss Universe pageant has come to an end after some controversy earlier this month.

The Top 30 contestants competed in the swimwear round, with judges then narrowing the competition down to the Top 12. The remaining women competed in the evening wear round, with the field then being narrowed down to the Top 5.

The final 5 contestants participated in the Q&A session, answering questions about global issues.

Miss Mexico won the competition.

So, what happened to her previously?

In early November at a pre-pageant ceremony, Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil was caught berating Miss Mexico during a moment that was live-streamed online.

The director told off Fatima for not posting enough promotional content about the pageant. She ended up walking out of the room and other contestants joined her in solidarity. The Thai official later apologized and his role in the pageant became limited.

There was MORE controversy this week when a judge quit over some concerns.
