Selma, who was first diagnosed with the chronic autoimmune disorder back in 2018, explained exactly why this milestone is so important to her.
“That, of course, means the world to me that I’m not, at this moment, accumulating more damage in my brain,” she told the outlet. “I have also made a lot of strides with the vibe of neuroplasticity.”
She went on to express her gratitude, noting that she feels “very, very lucky” because “everyone’s experience with MS is different.” She also touched on using her platform to help others.
“I think I do have a certain place [to speak publicly]. My big mouth likes to see what I can do about stigma,” the Legally Blonde actress said.
Earlier this year, Selma revealed she was “truly in remission.” Now that she has regained her stamina and isn’t “tired all the time,” she admits she is finally ready to look toward the future.
“It’s funny, I haven’t spent enough time having dreams. And now it’s like, what are my dreams?” she shared. “It’s like, wait, I realize I don’t know what my goals are.”
