Cameron Boyce‘s mother is speaking out after Adam Sandler featured a sweet tribute to the late actor in Happy Gilmore 2.
In the new Netflix movie, there’s a blink-and-you-miss-it moment where a clip of Cameron in the Disney Channel show Jessie is playing on a TV screen.
If you didn’t know, Cameron played Adam‘s son in the 2020 movie Grown Ups and it’s 2013 sequel. Cameron tragically died in 2019 after experiencing a seizure in his sleep. He was 20-years-old.
In a new Instagram post, Cameron‘s mom Libby Boyce reacted to his sweet tribute in Happy Gilmore 2.
Keep reading to find out more…“Adam and Cameron talked quite a bit in the days leading up to his death,” Libby wrote.
“Cameron was supposed to be in Hubies [sic] Halloween and they were strategizing,” she continued. “They had a bond I think related to being authentic, funny and just keeping it real. Adam always finds a way to keep Cams memory alive which warms our heart.💜”
In his 2020 movie Hubie Halloween, Adam included a tribute to Cameron during the end credits.
“In loving memory of CAMERON BOYCE,” the tribute read, along with a photo of the Descendants actor. “Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.”
