'General Hospital' Actress Rena Sofer is Leaving Hollywood After 35 Years


Rena Sofer is saying goodbye to the West Coast.

In a new Instagram post shared on Monday (August 4), the 56-year-old actress, best known for playing Lois Cerullo on General Hospital, announced that she and husband Sanford Bookstaver, with whom she shares 20-year-old daughter Avalon Leone Bookstave, are moving out of Los Angeles after nearly 35 years.

“We’ve been in LA for almost 35 years and now it’s time for me and @sbookstaver to go,” Rena began. “No one better than Billy Joel to create the perfect soundtrack to our dreams! Yes I’m getting emotional.”

Keep reading to find out more…“I met and had my children in LA met the man of my dreams and created an incredible life there,” Rena continued, who is also mom to Rosabel Rosalind, 28, with ex and General Hospital co-star Wally Kurth.

“I had amazing success in the Biz and made all my lifelong friends who I will miss desperately,” she continued. “Most of all my BFF @arinacabral and my Brother @davidsofer53 !!! Thank you LA for being you. And now on to quieter and calmer times. Leave it to a leaf blower to finish this post, there is nothing more la!! Now we are off in our @rivianofficial with our 5 dogs in the back to our new life!!! #saygoodbyetohollywood”

In the accompanying video, Rena revealed that she and Sanford, along with their five dogs, are moving to New York state.

As of right now, Rena‘s future on General Hospital, which films in L.A., remains unclear. A source close to the actress told E! News, “There has not been a conversation about her leaving the show.”
