‘Andor’ Season 2 Debuts With Even Higher Rotten Tomatoes Score Than Season 1

Andor Season 2 is set to arrive on Disney+ tomorrow, but early reviews for the series are already pouring in. After the first season of Andor was universally lauded as one of the best Star Wars projects ever, fans everywhere have been on pins and needles waiting to see how Season 2 follows it up. Now, enough early reviews have come in that Andor has been given a strong 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, even higher than the 96% score earned by its preceding season. This comes from 31 reviews at the time of writing, so it is subject to change, but this is a great start for the first Star Wars Disney+ series of 2025. An audience score will not be available until after the premiere.

Andor Season 2 will feature a bit of a different release model than Season 1. The first season of the hit Star Wars series debuted its first three episodes at once before shifting to a weekly release model, but Season 2 will continue to release three episodes at a time until the final three episodes debut on May 13. Each group of episodes released at a time will follow a confined story with time jumps of roughly one year in between, which is likely one of the reasons why a new release model is being tested for Andor. However, Season 1 also features stories with multi-episode arcs while sticking with a weekly release model, which begs the question of why Disney is willing to give up such a prominent spot in the conversation by constraining Andor to releasing over less than a month.

Will There Be Another Season of ‘Andor’?

It has already been confirmed that Andor Season 2 will be the final season of the series. From the time it was announced, Andor was always pitched as a two-season prequel to Rogue One that would lead directly into the events of the 2016 Star Wars movie helmed by Gareth Edwards. Andor’s leading star, Diego Luna, spoke with Collider recently at Star Wars Celebration and said he believes this is what sets the show apart from other series. Unlike other shows that produce seasons with the hopes of coming back, Andor focuses only on telling a good story, not securing a future.

The first three episodes of Andor Season 2 premiere tomorrow. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the series and watch Andor on Disney+.
