EXCLUSIVE: Golden Globe-winning The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) and Oscar nominee Isabella Rossellini (Conclave) are set to star in Jeremiah Zagar’s upcoming feature The Painted Bride.

Zagar gained critical acclaim for his Sundance debut We The Animals (a five-time Independent Spirit Award nominee), followed by the Netflix hit Hustle, starring Adam Sandler. He recently wrapped Task for HBO, starring Mark Ruffalo. The series will premiere later this year.
The Painted Bride stars Allen White as Elisha, a man who during the day swims, cooks and cares for his family, and at night, obsesses over a new project dedicated to his young son and his dying father. When a crisis draws him back home to Baltimore, his world begins to collapse, expand, regress and explode all around him.
The Painted Bride will blend live action with an innovative approach to stop-motion animation.
Zagar describes the film as “a story about masculinity and what we pass on to our children. It is about blood, art, duty, family and love. Above all, it is about love.”
The film is produced by Jeremy Yaches for Public Record (We The Animals, In a Dream, Hustle), Paul Mezey and Andrew Goldman for Present Company (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, Beasts Of The Southern Wild, After Yang, We The Animals) and Klaudia Śmieja-Rostworowska for Madants (Lamb, High Life, The Silent Twins).
The film was developed in association with Fit Via Vi Productions and will be financed with support from In The Cut Productions, Big Love Studios and AF Creative Media. Daniel Ginsberg, James Bruce, and Brian & Dayna Lee will Executive Produce.
