The show has not been officially renewed for a second season, but series creator Noah Hawley has now addressed the show’s future.
“Season 1 is the proof of concept,” Noah explained to Variety of a potential second season.
“And if it works commercially, then Season 2 is about building a model upon which we can envision making a Season 3, 4, 5.”
While FX has not officially renewed the series yet, he made clear the show was designed with multiple seasons in mind.
“Alien: Earth is designed to be a recurring series. I don’t know how many seasons that would be,” he said. “I believe that endings are what give a story meaning, so I have a sense of where I’m going with it.”
FX exec Gina Balian also hinted at possibilities for the show’s next chapter, telling Variety, “There are a lot of places that could stand in for where the show could go next.”
It currently has a 96% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score of 72%. Stay tuned to see if the series gets the official greenlight for Season 2!
