Colman Domingo On Paris Jackson’s Remarks Over Michael Jackson Biopic: “I Hope She Eventually Loves The Tribute”
Colman Domingo is responding to Paris Jackson after she criticized the Michael Jackson biopic.
In a new interview, Domingo remained hopeful that Paris Jackson would enjoy the “tribute” made to her late father.
“I hope that she eventually loves the tribute that we made about her father,” Domingo told WSJ Magazine.
Domingo is set to play Michael Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, in the Antoine Fuqua-directed film titled Michael. In September 2025, Paris Jackson took to social media to seemingly refer to an interview the Euphoria actor gave, in which he said she was “helpful” during production.
“[Colman Domingo], don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird,” Paris Jackson posted on her Instagram Stories.
In a second post, Paris Jackson added, “I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest / didn’t sit right with me, and when they didn’t address it, I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and God speed.”
Domingo gave an interview to People where he said, Paris Jackson and her siblings were “very much in support of our film,” adding, “I’m excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that’s a nice way for us to be together.”
In her posts on Instagram Stories, Paris Jackson also clarified that she had only met Domingo twice, “once at a birthday party and once at the amfAR thing the other night,” noting that “both were hella brief interactions.”
Lionsgate and Universal’s Michael biopic is set to be released on Friday, April 24, 2026. The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, will also star Nia Long and Miles Teller.
