The third chapter in the Enola Holmes film series has just received another thrilling update, this time detailing who else will be joining the youngest Holmes on another mystery-solving journey. It was announced just a week ago that Enola Holmes 3 began filming at Shepperton Studios in the U.K. Of course, Millie Bobby Brown is already expected to return as Sherlock Holmes’ (Henry Cavill) younger sister. However, it wasn’t clear at the time who else would be returning. Now, Netflix is gradually providing more details about the upcoming film, including which characters viewers should expect to be on their screens again.
The streaming giant confirmed that Louis Partridge (Disclaimer), Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), Helena Bonham Carter (Alice in Wonderland), Himesh Patel (Good Grief), and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Intergalactic) are returning for Season 3, joining Enola Holmes in her quest to solve another case. Partridge plays Enola’s love interest, Tewkesbury, while Cavill plays Enola’s older brother and private detective, Sherlock Holmes. Both Patel and Duncan-Brewster first appeared in Enola Holmes 2 as Dr. Watson and Mira Troy, respectively. Carter, on the other hand, plays the Holmes family matriarch.
What Will ‘Enola Holmes 3’ Be About?
Enola Holmes 3 is helmed by Philip Barantini, the director behind Netflix’s hit psychological crime drama Adolescence. Based on Nancy Springer‘s The Enola Holmes Mysteries, Enola Holmes — set in the Victorian era — centers on the titular character as she embarks on a quest to find her missing mother. Meanwhile, the second part follows Enola in her first case as a detective. The upcoming third movie will still revolve around Enola trying to crack another mystery, bringing her exceptional mystery-solving skills to Malta. Though she is no stranger to solving cases, the streamer confirmed that Enola Holmes 3 will see the character in a case unlike any other, while she also balances her growing relationship with Tewkesbury.
Jack Thorne, the screenwriter behind Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2, is once again attached to write the script for the third film.
