Frankie Bird is kicking off her new musical era with the new single “Still in the Middle,” which she credits as her favorite song ever.
The Los Angeles based singer-songwriter, formerly known as FRANKIE, is getting ready to drop a new album containing 13 songs about “finding the strength to leave a long term relationship in order to become yourself again.” She has been a favorite at JustJared.com ever since 2016, when we featured her in our 10 Fun Facts series amid the release of her song “New Obsession.”
Frankie says “Still in the Middle” is inspired by Sheryl Crow, Fleetwood Mac, and Tom Petty.
“It was one of those songs that flowed out of me so quick… I wrote it in 15 minutes on my couch and it really kicked off how I wanted my next album to sound and feel like,” Frankie said in a statement.
She added, “It’s a song about being stuck in a relationship and not knowing whether to stay and make it work one more time or pack up and leave for good. It’s a nostalgic summer song to drive to with the windows down on full blast and feels like the perfect introduction to this next chapter of music. I’ve never felt more authentic in my sound or writing so I can’t wait for people to hear it all.”
