‘Greenland’ Outfit Anton Developing Film Adaptation Of Video Game ‘Chained Together’

EXCLUSIVE: Greenland and Fuze outfit Anton is teaming up with Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert of So It Goes Entertainment to develop a film adaptation of 2024 video game Chained Together.

Developed by UK-outfit Anegar Games, Chained Together became a multiplayer hit when released last year. In the game, players must work together, chained to one another, to climb, survive, and escape perilous environments. Throughout the game, players can find ten power-ups, called Wings, that allow them to recover from falling. There’s a hard mode, where lava constantly rises, or an easy mode, where there are checkpoints. The game was released on June 19, 2024, and gained 80,000 players within its first week of release.

Todd Hughes and Speckert’s writing credits include Sylvester Stallone 2024 action film Armor and Cole Sprouse 2025 action-thriller Under Fire. The duo have recently worked on the development of video game adaptations Finding Frankie, with Mortal Kombat exec-producer Sean Robins, and horror franchise Dark Deception.

Anton’s recent slate includes David Mackenzie thriller Fuze starring Theo James and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, which premiered at TIFF; and Oscar nominee, Memoir Of A Snail. Upcoming projects include sequel Greenland: Migration, starring Gerard Butler, scheduled for release January 9th 2026 via Lionsgate.

Chained Together is one of those games that instantly connects with players because of its humor, challenge, and sense of teamwork,” said Speckert and Hughes in a joint statement. “As producers, we couldn’t be more excited to be working with Anton on this. We think they’re the perfect partner for this project, and we believe there’s an endless amount of fun to be had with the premise. The game’s collaborative nature, the dependency between players chained together, creates a unique foundation for cinematic storytelling. We can’t wait to bring that spirit to life for fans and new audiences alike.”
