Here’s A Bunch Of Disney Live-Action Adaptations That Worked Vs. Some That Really, Really Didn’t


While I love a new take on an old story, 2020’s Mulan’s main selling point was that they were striving to stick closer to the original fable of Mulan, the Warrior. So, for a movie that promised to be historically accurate, there were a shocking number of historical inaccuracies. And while the inaccuracies were not the least of the film’s problems (ahem, filming location, cough cough), it definitely meant that the serious tone and lack of Mushu and Li Shang didn’t really feel worth it.
