As a kid, I definitely enjoyed just about every element to it — the fact that Hogarth was a lonely kid, how tough being a single mother was for his mom, the severity of the military involvement, the Giant’s sacrifice…even the concept of a soul hits harder as an adult. Hoo boy, I was not expecting to cry on an airplane like that when I hadn’t seen it since being a kid.”
“Absolutely a timeless classic, it’s one of those animated movies that feels grounded in reality. Not necessarily over the existence of a giant alien death robot, but how human all of the characters felt.”
