After most recently directing episodes of Unicorn: Warriors Eternal and Primal, the next project from director Genndy Tartakovsky just got a major update. Netflix has released the first images from Fixed, the upcoming adult animated comedy starring Idris Elba and Kathryn Hahn. The streamer has also announced that the film will be released on August 23. Fixed follows Bull, an all-around good god, who discovers he will be neutered the next morning. As the gravity of the situation sets in, he realizes he needs one last adventure with his group of best friends. In addition to Elba and Hahn, Fixed also stars Adam Devine (Pitch Perfect), Fred Armisen (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), Bobby Moynihan (Inside Out 2), Beck Bennett (Sing), Michelle Buteau (Happiest Season), and River Gallo (Ponyboi).
Tartakovsky is a five-time Emmy Award winner for his work on projects like Primal, Samurai Jack, and Star Wars: Clone Wars, and he’s worked on other projects such as The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, and more. He is also the visionary director behind the Hotel Transylvania franchise, which is led by Adam Sandler as Dracula but also stars other big names such as Kevin James, Andy Samberg, and Selena Gomez. Tartakovsky has solidified himself as one of the greatest animated filmmakers of all time, and he even worked on episodes of popular shows such as Johnny Bravo and Sym-Bionic Titan. Other than Fixed, he also has two more projects in the works; the first is Black Knight, an animated action-adventure film. The second is Can You Imagine?, but details about the film are sparse at this time.
What Has the ‘Fixed’ Cast Been in Lately?
Fixed star Idris Elba was most recently seen reprising his role as Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the critically acclaimed third installment in the video game franchise that was also beloved by audiences. He will even reprise his role as Sam Nelson in Hijack Season 2, which is coming to Apple TV+ later this year. As for Kathryn Hahn, she can currently be seen starring opposite Seth Rogen in The Studio, the Apple TV+ series with a star-studded roster of guest talent. She also recently led the Marvel series Agatha All Along, which saw her reprise her role as Agatha Harkness for the first time since WandaVision.
Fixed premieres on Netflix on August 23. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the project.
