The 55-year-old actress reprised the role of Virginia Venit in this 2025 sequel. Now, the actress is sharing her thoughts on the surprising plot twist that happens early in the movie!

Julie spoke to PEOPLE about how she reacted to the big plot twist when she first read the script.
Only a few minutes into the movie, Julie‘s character, who has been happily married to and started a family with Adam Sandler‘s titular character, is struck with a golf ball and killed.
“When I found out that I was killed on page 12, I started laughing,” Julie told the publication. “I was on vacation with my family, and I had no wifi. I could barely read this thing. I only had my phone, and I was like, ‘Am I seeing this right’? Trying to blow it up.”
According to Julie, her character being killed so early in the movie didn’t phase her. The actress said that she was just happy to be invited back to the sequel after being in the original film.
“Of course, why would I not want to be part of Happy Gilmore, whether I’m a big part, a little part?” Julie said and added that Adam wanted as many original characters as he could get back for the sequel.
“I was delighted to find out that Adam felt that Happy and Virginia had stayed together. That’s cool,” Julie shared.
