Kid Cudi is providing more details about his alleged interactions with Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The 41-year-old “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper began his first day of testimony on Thursday (May 22) during Day 9 of the 55-year-old music mogul’s ongoing sex trafficking trial.

Scott Mescudi, AKA Kid Cudi, took the witness stand in the early morning of Day 9 of the trial.
He confirmed he had a brief relationship with Cassie in December 2011 that prompted a threat of violence and blackmail from Diddy, she testified last week.
Before the jury was seated, the attorneys had a debate over whether Kid Cudi could testify about his dog’s behavioral changes after a 2011 break-in at his home, per NBC News.
Defense attorney Brian Steele told Judge Arun Subramanian that the government wanted Kid Cudi to testify that his dog was traumatized after being put behind a closed door in December 2011, while prosecutor Emily Johnson argued that observations about the dog are relevant to the break-in.
“He’s not going to testify to what the dog thought,” the judge said, prompting laughter from the courtroom.
Kid Cudi ultimately can testify about the dog according to the judge, but only in broad terms as the prosecutor noted that the dog is “no longer with us.”
Kid Cudi said briefly met Cassie at an event in 2008 but they didn’t start to date until 2011.
Cassie was having problems with Diddy at the time and, to his knowledge, the couple were not dating when the two got together.
Kid Cudi then testified that he got a call in December 2011 from Cassie saying that Diddy had found out about the couple and asked him to pick her up. She was nervous and told Kid Cudi that Diddy was abusive.
Kid Cudi told the court he took her to the Sunset Marquis to keep her safe and away from Diddy.
At one point, he said he received a call letting him know that Diddy and an associate were at Kid Cudi’s home. The call was made by a Diddy employee at the time, Capricorn Clark, and Cassie was with her on speaker phone.
Kid Cudi recalled how angry he was when Diddy allegedly broke into his home in the Hollywood Hills.
“He said, ‘What’s up” and I said, ‘Mother f—— are you in my house?’ He said, ‘I am here waiting for you,’” Kid Cudi testified.
Later on, Kid Cudi‘s car caught fire in driveway one day in 2012 while he said he was about 45 minutes away from home.
He said that his dogsitter called him to tell him what was happening and he rushed home. A friend sent him photos that showed the open top of his Porsche open where a Molotov cocktail was thrown in. Prosecutors showed photos of the car in court and had Kid Cudi describe them.
Cassie previously testified that Diddy threatened her and Kid Cudi, saying he wanted to set fire to Kid Cudi‘s car in his driveway. She also told the court that Diddy assured it would not be by his hands and he would not be in the country when it happened.
Kid Cudi was asked why he requested to meet with Diddy after his car was set on fire.
He responded that he reached out because he knew Diddy was involved with the fire. Diddy‘s defense objected to Kid Cudi‘s speculation, and his answer was struck from the record.
Judge Subramanian then denied a request for attorneys to sidebar and the prosecution continued to question Kid Cudi.
