Kim Cattrall Says She Turned Down 'Sex & the City' Four Times, Reveals Why & What Changed Her Mind
Kim Cattrall is opening up about almost not starring in Sex and the City.
The 68-year-old actress was no stranger to acting in film and television before the HBO series, but it became what most people associate her with now.
During a recent interview, Kim dished on why she actually turned it down several times and why she finally said yes.

“Self-inflicted ageism,” she told The Times with a laugh about why she kept saying no.
“Well, that changed — 40 became sexy. It became, ‘Man, let’s have more of that,’” she added.
“She wasn’t a nymphomaniac — well, some people might have thought she was — but she was just enjoying the main course. Everyone else was nibbling on the appetisers when she was going for the steak. And it was always on her terms — that I always insisted on,” Kim said of her sex-positive character Samantha Jones. “But, I’m the antithesis of her in many ways. I’m a serial monogamist, and then some.”
