Maren Morris Explains How Dating 'Bums' After Divorce Inspired Her Music
Maren Morris is explaining how not all music comes from good relationships!
The 35-year-old country singer is explaining how some of the dates she went on after her divorce have inspired her music. “The Middle” singer spoke to Page Six, she went on dates with quite a few “losers” and things just didn’t work out. Despite not being into them romantically, Maren says those dates have inspired her new music.

Specifically, Maren said her new song “Too Good” was inspired by some of her dating misadventures after her split.
“I started dating a little bit [after my divorce] and just met some f—ing bums that couldn’t pay the tab,” Maren told the crowd at a Soho Sessions performance on Monday (August 25). “I brought to my cowriters this idea, and I was like, ‘I’ve been dating a few losers. I think it’s just a stroke of bad luck. It’s gonna end soon.”
The lyrics of the song, which is featured on her new Dreamsicle album, features lines such as: “Bed feels bigger and that’s alright with me / Hope that you’re doing the same / And the couch that you’re on is okay.”
