Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Saints’ Gets Second Season at Fox Nation

Martin Scorsese is taking the Fox Nation streaming service back to church.

The legendary director will produce eight new episodes of his documentary series, “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints,” for Fox Nation. The series, created by Matti Leshem and developed by Scorsese for Lionsgate Alternative Television, will premiere in two parts. The first four episodes will roll out weekly, beginning in November 2025, and a second set will conclude in May 2026, spanning the Holy season.

“It was evident our subscribers wanted more, and we delivered,” said Jason Klarman, chief digital officer and chief marketing officer of Fox News Media, in a statement. “We’re thrilled to welcome back Mr. Scorsese for season two of ‘The Saints.’ It truly has been a remarkable partnership.” Fox Nation has worked in recent months to develop a set of programs that court viewers interested in content about faith.

The series focuses on the story of a single saint in each episode. The next cycle will bring viewers looks at Saint Mary the Virgin, Saint Peter, Saint Carlo Acutis, Saint Patrick, Saint Paul, Saint Longinus, Saint Lucia, and Saint Thomas Becket.

Fox News Media says the first season of the series was Fox Nation’s “highest engaged and most watched series of all time,” but did not release specific figures. During each month of release, the docudrama was the top performer on the platform for November 2024, December 2024, and April 2025. Episodes focused on Joan of Arc, John the Baptist, and others.

“For many years, I dreamed of telling stories of the lives of the saints. It’s been an obsession of mine for as long as I can remember. So the chance to do this series meant the world to me, and it’s heartening to know that people have responded to it,” Scorsese said in a statement. “I’m very excited to be coming back for a second season.”

Written by Kent Jones, who frequently collaborates with Scorsese, “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints” was directed by Matti Leshem and Elizabeth Chomko in season one. Additional executive producers alongside Scorsese and Leshem include Craig Piligian, Julie Yorn, Rick Yorn, and Christopher Donnelly. Along with Lionsgate, the series was produced by Sikelia Productions, Weimaraner Republic Pictures, and LBI Entertainment.

Scorsese is one of the industry’s most influential filmmakers, and has won Oscars for Best Director and Best Picture for the 2007 film “The Departed.” He has also directed critically acclaimed movies including “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Raging Bull” and “Goodfellas,” while working on award-winning documentaries including “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan” and “George Harrison: Living in the Material World.”
