Melinda Gates Reveals the Reason She & Bill Gates Split Up After 27 Years of Marriage
Melinda French Gates is revealing the reason why she and her ex husband Bill Gates ended their marriage.
If you didn’t know, the 60-year-old philanthropist and the 69-year-old businessman were married for 27 years before divorcing in 2021. Together they share three children: daughters Jennifer, 28, and Phoebe, 22, as well as son Rory, 25, and two grandkids: Jennifer‘s daughters Leila, 2, and Mia, 5 months.

She was asked about the split during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Melinda shared, “I learned, to have a trusted relationship, which is what I wanted in marriage, both partners have to be honest with one another. And if you can’t, you can’t have intimacy and you can’t have trust.”
“And so in the end, I had to go,” she told host Stephen Colbert.
In 2021, a source revealed the bombshell, alleged reason why Melinda reportedly started mulling a split in 2019. A source also spilled so much tea about what allegedly went down weeks before their divorce announcement.
