Chris Pratt’s sci-fi thriller “Mercy” has collected $11.2 million in its North American debut, enough to end the five-weekend reign of James Cameron’s behemoth “Avatar: Fire and Ash.”
Theaters brought in about $60 million across all films, down roughly 9% from the same period in 2025, which can be attributed to the snow storms affecting many territories, per Variety.
Mercy was projected to bring in $12 million over the weekend until the storms started affecting moviegoers.
Here’s a synopsis: In the near future, a detective (Pratt) stands on trial accused of murdering his wife. He has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to the advanced A.I. Judge (Rebecca Ferguson) he once championed, before it determines his fate.
