Paramount+ has another family drama series on its hands with Guy Ritchie’s MobLand. The series follows an Irish crime family in modern-day London, the Harrigans — an expansive family, as they try not only to grow their influence on guns and drugs througho but survive the dangers that come with being a successful mafia-style family. The family is headed by a typical matriarch and patriarch archetype with Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren), who have the final say in all decisions. The rest of the family all have varying roles within the business, some being pretty much non-existent, but they all reap the benefits of the cache that comes with the Harrigan name, as well as the immense wealth their shady dealings profit from.
Conrad Harrigan
Conrad is the mastermind behind the Harrigan enterprise, who mostly steers the ship that navigates London’s criminal underbelly. Most of the time, Conrad presents himself as thoughtful and strategic, which has led to his vast success in maintaining the stranglehold the family has on the drug and gun business, but at times, he has fits of unpredictability, leading to outbursts of rage and violence. While the family looks to Conrad’s leadership, he often looks to his wife Maeve for guidance on pressing matters, exposing a sliver of self-doubt that his wife could be using to her advantage.
Maeve Harrigan

Maeve Harrigan comes off aloof, always with a drink in hand, but her presence evokes respect whenever she enters a room. While Conrad obviously sits at the head of the table, Maeve has a major say in the goings-on of anything involved in the Harrigan business. Mobland also hinted that Maeve has her own game of mob chess, which she orchestrates behind closed doors, cementing that she is a force to be reckoned with. It seems Maeve has set off a domino effect, leading to a full-on crime war, leaving fans eager to know the why and what the ramifications could possibly be when the dust settles.
Harry Da Souza
While not blood-related, Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) is the Harrigan family’s fixer, meaning he is the man who does all the dirty work for the family — including covering up murders, crimes, keeping rival mobs at bay, and, of course, assassinating anyone who poses a threat to the Harrigan legacy. He is an integral piece of the day-to-day workings of their criminal empire and serves as the central figure of Mobland. Harry is ruthless, but also calm and collected. He always knows the right thing to say and the right people to go to, which means Harry knows exactly when somebody needs to be taken care of permanently. Harry is Conrad’s right-hand man, and is 100% loyal to the Harrigan family, even to the detriment of his relationship with his wife, Jan Da Souza (Joanne Froggatt), and his daughter, Gina (Teddie Allen).
Brendan Harrigan

Brendan is the oldest son of Conrad and Maeve but is not involved with the family business. During a conversation with his half-sister Seraphina (Mandeep Dhillon) in Episode 2, “Jigsaw Puzzle,” it’s revealed that Brendan has attempted to follow in his father’s footsteps but has failed on multiple occasions. Seraphina herself thinks Brendan is not fit for the family business, but he has a mysterious business proposition for her, one that has yet to be revealed. Being the oldest child of Conrad and Maeve does leave him in line for the succession of the business if something ever happens to his parents. With his track record being spotty at best, it could certainly lead to more messes than usual for Harry to clean up if a twisted fate rears its ugly head, taking out Conrad and Maeve.

Kevin Harrigan

Kevin Harrigan (Paddy Considine) is the younger of Conrad and Maeve’s two sons. Kevin is married to Bella Harrigan (Lara Pulver), who isn’t integrated into the family business but is part of a powerful family herself. Unlike his older brother, Kevin is a big part of the criminal operation his family oversees, but he does not have a cutthroat mean streak like his parents or his family’s helping hand, Harry. He brings a level head to the day-to-day, something both his parents and certainly his son are in dire need of.
Bella Harrigan

Bella Harrigan comes from a family of strong political influence, with her secret meetings leading the audience to believe that her plans might be another foil to the Harrigan family. Bella also seems to have a romantic past with Harry, one she is keen on rekindling within the events of the series, but Harry refuses. While Bella’s true allegiances aren’t quite clear, her role within the series is set up to only grow as it progresses. Her possible role as the true antagonist to the Harrigan empire makes for an interesting and compelling dynamic Mobland can continue to benefit from.
Eddie Harrigan

Kevin and Bella have a son, Eddie Harrigan (Anson Boon), who is a privileged wildcard who kicks off the series by stabbing someone in a club while high on cocaine, but as Episode 2 reveals, he might be a pawn in a bigger game being played by Maeve. Growing up facing zero consequences, Eddie constantly tests the boundaries of the power his family holds, putting himself and the rest of his kin in danger constantly. The altercation Eddie was involved with is also intertwined with the initial conflict of the series — the disappearance of the Harrigan’s rival family heir, Tommy Stevenson (Felix Edwards).
Seraphina Harrigan

Seraphina is Conrad’s daughter, who was born from an affair Conrad had with an exotic dancer, and she is very loyal to Conrad and dedicated to expanding the family business. Maeve has an obvious disdain towards Seraphina and has no problem showing it in a very public manner, often referring to her as a mistake. Regardless, Conrad isn’t shy about showing his love and appreciation for his daughter and rewards her potential with business dealings that profit both her and the Harrigan empire.
