the art of dressing smarter
Here’s the thing about a spring capsule wardrobe — it’s not just about clothes. It’s about how you feel when you get dressed. When everything in your closet actually works together, fits beautifully, and makes you feel like yourself? Your whole morning changes. Less stress, less time standing there in a overwhelm , and so much more energy for the things that actually light you up.
Here are some helpful, fail-safe tips for building the perfect capsule.
✔ Start with a Color Story – A neutral color palette is key to a cohesive capsule. The color story of the capsule below includes white, tan, blue, and black, creating the perfect foundation for mixing and matching. Once you have a strong base, you can easily add prints or pops of color later!
✔ Invest in Quality Basics – Your basics are the foundation of your wardrobe, so choose high-quality, well-fitting pieces that will last for years. Focus on flattering silhouettes for your body shape, comfortable, high-quality fabrics, and versatile styles that make you feel confident. And remember—only buy what you truly love and will actually wear!
The best part about this Spring Capsule? Every piece has been carefully selected and tested. But please know, this is just a guide. You don’t need to recreate this exact capsule, simply glean inspriation from it. Find similiar pieces in your closet or at the store that work best for you.
Now, let’s break it down…

Tops & Sweaters
Since spring is all about smart layering, let’s start with a few versatile tops and lightweight sweaters. At the top of the list? A white button-down. Think of the Drexel Shirt by Hevron as the classic white button-down’s more flattering, feminine upgrade. The cinched waist beautifully defines your shape, while the crisp tailoring keeps it polished and endlessly versatile. It truly works with everything. My favorite aspect of the shirt? You can leave it untucked if you want and it still looks very polished because of the split v front (pictured above). This unique feature brings an edge to a basic and provides more versatility too.
One of my all-time favorite sweaters is this light cable-knit pullover by L’Agence (pictured top left). I LOVE it so much because of the gorgeous open knit details and the shoulder pads. This season it’s available in a beautiful neutral camel color.
For chillier spring days or evenings, a chic cream turtleneck is a must—this ribbed knit one by Lululemon is next level soft. You truly won’t want to take it off.
A tailored vest adds instant sophistication to your spring wardrobe — sharp, modern, and polished. And this gorgeous silk blouse is perfect for the office with its understated, “old money” elegance. The print is delicate yet luxe, adding just the right amount of interest.
I added this stunning white tweed jacket because it will go with everything from jeans to skirts and it’ll be the perfect layer over your dressier spring/summer dresses.

Pants & Dresses
You may recognize the L’Agence Scottie jeans (pictured top above) from my Winter Capsule—because a great pair of jeans is truly seasonless. I believe in wearing and re-wearing high-quality pieces that stand the test of time. These holy grail jeans are SO good, you want to wear them everyday. They’re a best-seller for a reason.
White jeans are a spring wardrobe must — but finding a pair that’s actually flattering (and not see-through) is another story. The Frame Le Slim Palazzo in white checks every box: elongating, beautifully tailored, comfortable, and fully opaque. They give you that crisp, polished look without sacrificing fit or confidence — truly a dream pair. Bonus for petite women, the inseam is only 31-inches so these will work beautifully with a small heel or platform sneakers.
Yes, I had to include the Aritzia Effortless Pants — they’re that good. They drape beautifully, resist wrinkles, and always look polished (even straight from a suitcase). I especially love the lighter taupe for spring — it pairs perfectly with the vest for a chic monochrome look. And yes… I own them in five colors. That should tell you everything. (These come in various inseam lengths. In some colors, I have both regular and short lengths.)
The Kylo Belted Sleeveless Shirtdress is a polished, wear-anywhere staple. It’s perfect for the office, and easy to layer with a trench or coat for those unpredictable spring days. Dress it up with heels for meetings or down with sneakers for a more relaxed vibe — it truly does it all. I own it in black but I’m really loving this brown version for spring.

Outerwear
If you’re ready to invest in a timeless classic, the J.Crew Icon Trench is a longtime favorite for good reason. It has clean lines, beautiful structure, and a detachable hood (a rare and very practical feature for rainy days and travel). Bonus: it comes in petite sizing for a more tailored, flattering fit on smaller frames. (I’m wearing regular length and am 5′ 4″ – FYI)
A returning favorite from last year’s Spring Capsule — the Battista Dickey Jacket by Veronica Beard is truly one of those investment pieces that earns its place in your wardrobe. The clean tailoring, flattering fit, and structured-yet-stretchy fabric make it the perfect blazer for spring and summer. You can wear it with allll the things, from trousers, to skirts to dresses.
And because it’s dickey-compatible, you can completely change the look in seconds. Add the ivory wool dickey for a touch of warmth and dimension on cooler days — all without the added bulk. It’s smart layering at its finest.

Accessories
Nothing glams up an outfit faster than your accessories. And when you invest in the right ones, you can wear them every single day to really add some pop to your looks. For sunglasses, I recommend two go-to pairs: an edgier cool-girl pair that are modern and a bit unexpected, and a classic oval pair — these ones are only $70 and gorgeous. Dial up the glamour even more with a hat or silk scarf for that extra wow factor. Bonus points for using your scarf as a belt (so chic)!
For jewelry, I suggest a few beautiful, high quality pieces that are simply enough to wear every day, but impactful enough to add interest to your outfits.
When choosing belts for spring, consider a chocolate brown leather and a camel suede option. They’re softer and more seasonal than black, and they pair beautifully with your spring shoes for a cohesive, polished look.
For bags, I chose two power players that work overtime in your wardrobe. The first is the Toteme Belted Leather Bucket Bag in a rich chocolate brown — sleek, modern, and works for any season which is important when investing in forever pieces. The second is the Dash Leather Top Handle Bag by Veronica Beard, which gives major designer vibes without the intimidating price tag. Both elevate everything in this capsule and transition effortlessly from meetings to date nights.

Shoes
The right shoes anchor your entire capsule — and these five give you versatility, polish, and just the right amount of edge.
The Stuart Weitzman sock bootie is your sleek transitional hero. It’s refined, leg-lengthening, and perfect for those cooler spring days when sandals feel premature. They are also kitten heels so VERY manageable. The sock shape makes them dressier than a typical bootie and ideal to wear under your jeans or with skirts and dresses.
The Dolce Vita mules are an effortless, neutral-toned slip-on option that instantly elevates even the simplest outfit while the M.Gemi Uma flats add that feminine, European-inspired touch. (Note, for max leg lengthening impact, invest in sandals that match your skin tone.)
For sneakers, I included two options to balance the capsule — and this season, I’m definitely leaning into lower profile styles. I’m loving this trend because it feels fresh, chic, and still elevated and flattering (no bulky dad sneakers here).
The Riviera Mesh Sneaker by Veronica Beard in a darker tone grounds lighter outfits and adds a modern, sporty edge. Meanwhile, the Rag & Bone retro sneaker in a lighter color keeps things fresh and casual — ideal for spring weekends and travel days.

Spring Capsule = Simplicity
A spring capsule isn’t just about a cleaner closet — it’s about making your life easier. When everything works together, getting dressed becomes effortless. No decision fatigue, no wasted mornings — just pieces you actually love reaching for, season after season.
