One Small Accessory Update = One Huge Style Upgrade!
If you’re not using your sunglasses to elevate your style, you’re missing one of fashion’s easiest power moves. This season, we’re seeing a shift away from oversized, logo-heavy frames and toward slimmer, sleeker silhouettes—and I’m so here for it.
I’ve always loved sunglasses because they deliver maximum impact with minimal effort. Sure, they serve a function (hello, sun protection), but they’re also one of the quickest ways to look modern, confident, and polished. And you know I’m allll about fashion that meets function.
Upgrading your sunglasses is a low-risk, high-reward style move that can instantly refresh everything you already own.
Let’s talk about the hottest sunglass styles right now—and how to wear them in real life.

standout sunglasses
Sunglass trends for Spring 2026 are all about fresh shapes with a modern edge. From sleek, slim silhouettes to bold reimagined aviators and futuristic shields, the styles this season feel more intentional—and more wearable—than ever. And if you want to take it one step further, try a colored lens (like amber, olive, or smoky rose)—it’s a micro trend gaining major traction.
Let’s dive into the top three shapes to watch…

#1 – slim is in
Designer It-Pairs:
celine
These narrow, sculpted metal frames are the definition of cool-girl polish. They’ve become a favorite among fashion insiders because they instantly add edge without trying too hard. I first spotted these on the show Landman—worn by Ali Larter’s character, Angela. They’re a gorgeous slim oval style by Celine with gold arms and green lenses. I actually saw them in-store too… but I guess I needed to see them twice. 🥰 Now they’re stuck in my head—in the best way.
khaite
I also wanted to share another new favorite by Khaite that I absolutely love (pictured above bottom). These have a gold flat top and unique shape that makes them quite a standout in a sea of slim sunglasses. They’re a home run if you love a modern, trendy pair to infuse a little excitement into your wardrobe.
Affordable Alternatives:
otra
The black pair of Otra sunglasses I’m wearing (above top left) are just a cool as a high-end designer pair, but much less expensive at $65.
le specs
Another affordable and cool option – Le Specs “Outta Love” (pictured above, top right). I love this shape so much, I bought them in 3 colors! They are light on your face, flattering and only $75.
Sunglasses are such a home run because they are a small, low-risk, but high-impactful accessory that can easily infuse some excitement into your wardrobe.

#2 – aviator energy
The aviator never truly goes out of style—it’s a classic silhouette that is always around, but the current versions feel stronger, bolder, and more fashion-forward. Think wider, darker and thicker frames, and unique shapes.
Designer It-Pairs:
bottega veneta
A must-see pair and one of the leading aviator styles for Spring ’26 is Bottega Veneta’s BV1418S. This pair takes the classic aviator shape and reimagines it with sculptural boldness—oversized lenses, thick temples, and an exaggerated bridge that reads more fashion editor than fighter pilot. These are the kind of sunglass that turns a simple white tee and jeans into a statement look.
ray ban
The sunglasses I’m wearing above by Ray-Ban are actually two trends in one—the reimagined aviator and the slim silhouette combined. The shape is sleek and modern, but still gives that iconic aviator edge. Plus, they’re so lightweight you’ll honestly forget you’re wearing them. (Not kidding—I’ve actually caught myself asking, “Where are my sunglasses?” while they were still on my face. 😉)
Affordable Alternatives:
le specs
At just over $100, these Le Specs “Le Mimi” aviators are a super dupe of the RayBan’s I’m wearing above. Equally cool and lightweight, just a whole lot more affordable.
elisa johnson
If you want the look of the over-sized aviators without the Bottega prices (Um, $700 for sunglasses? When did this happen?) look at Elisa Johnson. I linked some cool options below.

#3 – futuristic frames
Shield sunglasses had a major moment in 2025—and the momentum is only building for 2026. My jaw literally dropped when I saw Charlize Theron at Paris Fashion Week wearing a crisp white suit, layered gold necklaces, and a pair of Givenchy shield sunglasses. It’s one of those looks you have to Google—it was that good.
This spring, expect to see the shield trend continue, but with a futuristic twist. Think Matrix-inspired silhouettes, ultra-flat tops, and full-face coverage that feels more like fashion armor than eyewear.
Designer It-Pairs:
gucci
If you want to dip into the futuristic frame trend without going full-on Neo, this white Gucci pair is the one to grab now. The geometric shape brings serious modern energy, but the soft lines, lightweight frame, and creamy white color keep it chic and totally wearable.
This is the kind of pair you’ll reach for constantly—whether you’re walking the dog, grabbing lunch on the ski mountain, or running errands around town. Bonus: they look especially stunning with lighter spring neutrals, making them a versatile staple well into 2026.
Affordable Alternatives:
dezi
I haven’t tried Dezi yet, but I’ve been eyeing their affordable shield styles. The designs are super fashion-forward—bold, sleek, and very on-trend. If you’re not ready to splurge on a luxury pair, Dezi offers a budget-friendly way to tap into the futuristic frame trend without sacrificing style. No matter how you style them, they’ll pack a serious fashion punch.
P.S. If you try them, please DM me on IG and let me know what you think.

round and round we go
One bonus trend worth noting? Round frames. They’re bringing a softer, vintage-inspired vibe to this season’s sharper, more angular lineup. Whether you lean classic or quirky, a great round pair adds instant personality. For designer inspo, look at Chloe, Miu Miu and Gucci (pictured above.)

the instant style upgrade
If your style needs a little refresh, don’t rush out and replace your entire wardrobe—start with your sunglasses. Because they cover your eyes—the very first place people look when they talk to you—they have a powerful influence on how you’re perceived. A single modern pair can shift your entire vibe, making you feel more intentional, polished, and current.
You don’t need ten pairs like I’ve collected over the years (sunglasses might be my weakness…), just one or two that align with your style and today’s trends. I test out as many as I can so I can guide you toward the best picks—ones that are worth the investment and will truly elevate your look.
So here’s my challenge: try a modern pair this season. Put them on, wear them with confidence, and let this one simple accessory do the heavy lifting for you.
