Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones, Avengers: Infinity War) has officially joined the series regular cast of the Showtime Original Series Dexter: Resurrection, from executive producer and showrunner Clyde Phillips. Production began in New York last month and will premiere this summer.
No official synopsis for the Michael C. Hall-led series has been revealed, but it’s the continuation of Dexter: New Blood set in the present day.
Dinklage will portray ‘Leon Prater,’ a billionaire venture capitalist. To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue. Deadline understands Dinklage is playing the big baddy of the season.
Leon will work closely alongside Charley (Uma Thurman), his head of security. A former Special Ops officer, Charley worked various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as Prater’s resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman.
Additionally, David Zayas, Jack Alcott and James Remar will also serve as series regulars returning to the roles they made famous: Angel Batista, Harrison Morgan and Harry Morgan, respectively.
Dexter: Resurrection is executive produced by Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Dexter: Original Sin), who also returns to serve as showrunner, and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under) also executive produces along with Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll), with Marcos Siega (Dexter: New Blood) serving as producing director.
Monica Raymund (Dexter: Original Sin) is set to direct four episodes with Siega directing six episodes of the series distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
A preview of what’s to come in Dexter: Resurrection can be seen in the premiere episode of Dexter: Original Sin, a franchise prequel starring Patrick Gibson as the titular serial killer in training available to stream now from Paramount+ with Showtime.
Dexter: Original Sin will conclude its first season, 10-episode run on February 14. The show premiered in December delivering the most streamed Showtime premiere in history with more than 2.1M global cross-platform viewers, according to the streamer.
