Robert Duvall Considered Adoption to Fulfill His Dream of Becoming a Dad After Previous Attempts Failed – Closer Weekly | Closer Weekly

Robert Duvall, who died at 95 years old on Sunday, February 15, lived a remarkable life — but one dream never came true for the Oscar winner.

In a story published by Daily Mail on Monday, February 16, the outlet recalled per Today that Duvall spoke candidly in a 2007 Details interview about wanting children but struggling to become a father.

“I guess I’m shooting blanks,” he said at the time, explaining he had tried “with a lot of different women, in and out of marriage” and had even considered adoption.

Duvall was married four times, and despite his desire for a family, he often poured his energy into work. A source told Daily Mail he rarely discussed not having children because he “invested his time in his craft, his marriages and just living life,” adding he didn’t view it as a regret.

His widow, Luciana Pedraza, 54, announced his passing in a heartfelt Facebook message on Monday, February 16, writing that the actor died “peacefully at home” and remembered him as both a devoted partner and a passionate storyteller.

Over his seven-decade career, Duvall was best known for his breakout roles in The Godfather, Apocalypse Now and Tender Mercies.
