Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones to Reunite for First Faces Album in Over 50 Years

English rock group Faces are set to release their first album in 50 years.

In a new interview with The Telegraph published Monday, April 21, drummer Kenney Jones revealed that an album from the band — which was initially a supergroup featuring members of Small Faces and the Jeff Beck Group including Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood — is indeed on the way.

He told the publication that “about 11 tracks” had been recorded at RAK Studios in London and said that musician/host Jools Holland will feature on one track.

“Not all of them are going to be right [for the album],” Jones, 76, said of the recorded songs. “But most of them are good.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee also provided a rough timeline on when fans could expect the new project.

“I can’t see it coming out this year,” said Jones. “But I can see it coming out next year. Everyone’s doing different things. We do little snippets [of recording] here and there. Then all of a sudden, The Stones are out [on tour] again, Rod’s out again…”

The outlet also referenced Stewart, 80, has teased the existence of an album over the past four years — first noting it was in progress in 2021 and then providing an update in 2024 that “we haven’t finished it yet, but we’ll finish it this year, I promise.”

Formed in 1969, Faces released four albums throughout their tenure: First Step (1970) Long Player (1971), A Nod Is As Good As a Wink… to a Blind Horse (1971) and Ooh La La (1973). After six years, Wood, 77, would leave to join the Rolling Stones and Stewart’s solo career would continue flourishing.

Ronnie Lane, the group’s founding guitarist, died in 1997, while keyboardist Ian McLagan died in 2014. But over the years, there were a number of reunions since Faces disbanded. They last reunited to perform their song “Stay with Me” at the 2020 BRIT Awards, per Billboard.

In January, Wood reunited with Stewart to celebrate his 80th birthday a week after marking his milestone birthday.

The pair of musicians and their wives had a glamorous night on the town, which Wood commemorated on social media.

“🥳😎🎂Really fun night celebrating Rod’s 80th!,” he captioned an Instagram post that featured him and Stewart posing with wives Sally Wood and Penny Lancaster.
