Rosie O’Donnell Stuns Fans With Dramatic Weight Loss Transformation

Rosie O’Donnell has been open about her journey to a healthier lifestyle and she recently raved about her dramatic weight loss with the help of medicine like Mounjaro.

“I can’t believe this is me now,” Rosie, 63, wrote on May 24 alongside a screenshot of herself holding a mic on stage that she shared via Instagram.

The former host of The View added the hashtags “#mounjaro,” “#weightloss” and “#bodydismorphia.” Rosie, who moved to Ireland with her child Clay in January, was looking incredibly slim in a light green sweater and dark pants.

The Now and Then actress had always been forthcoming with fans about her weight loss journey and in 2015, she revealed that she had lost 64 pounds after undergoing a vertical gastric sleeve surgery in 2013.

“Believe it or not, that surgery changed my life,” she told People at the time. “It doesn’t reroute your intestines. You have no issue with going to the bathroom in public. But your relationship with food ends.”

Rosie continued, “I had a heart attack at 50. When I woke up, they said, ‘You should have died.’ Doctors said, ‘We need you to lose 50 pounds in the next year, but you can’t have surgery or anything in the next year because you’ve had a heart attack.’”

The Sleepless in Seattle star then revealed in 2023 that she was kicking off the new year with strides to become healthier and she said that she had lost 10 pounds in a video she shared on social media.

“Good morning. I’m on my way to school to drop [daughter Dakota] off, and I needed to let you know I lost 10 pounds since Christmas,” Rosie said. “Ten pounds, I’m very happy.”

The League of Their Own actress previously discussed her use of Mounjaro during a TikTok video she shared on March 20. Mounjaro “is used to help lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes,” according to WebMD, and that’s why Rosie was initially prescribed the medicine. However, she’s benefitted from one of its side effects.

“I’ve lost more weight. I am on Mounjaro for my diabetes and one of the side effects is you lose weight,” Rosie explained in the clip. “But it’s also because I had a chef for over two years in Los Angeles and I don’t have a chef now. It’s me cooking for Clay and me. I went shopping today at a wonderful boutique in Dublin to get some clothes for myself that fit better. I’m one of those people who always had a weight issue and now that I’m a size large, instead of an XL or a XXL, I find it shocking. I really do. I find it completely shocking.”

She continued, “They brought in some pants and I didn’t look at the size. I put them on and as we were leaving, they said what the size would be comparable to in America and I didn’t really believe them. But I’m telling you, I feel healthier. I’m sleeping better.”
