Sarah Jessica Parker Reveals How She Really Feels About Big's Death on 'And Just Like That…'

Sarah Jessica Parker is opening up about her true thoughts on Big dying in the series premiere of And Just Like That…

The 60-year-old star of the show addressed the shocking moment of Chris Noth‘s character having a heart attack while riding a Peloton bike in the Sex and the City sequel series’ debut episode.

“Big dying was really, really hard to do both professionally and personally,” she said on The E! News Sitdown With Bruce Bozzi, which airs May 27, at 11 pm on E! “That’s not just a thread. It’s one of the main arteries that you would struggle to do without.”

“It was really sad to say goodbye to that,” she added.

“It’s not like I needed it for my own health or wellbeing,” SJP continued. “But that was a hugely wonderful story to tell for a lot of years.”

She also addressed criticism over Carrie and Big’s relationship, and his death being difficult at the time, not knowing if John Corbett‘s Aiden Shaw would appear on the show (he has since, of course, reprised his role!)

“All of it was a mess, and all of it was wonderful,” she said of Carrie and Big. “It was romantic, and it was a disaster. It was destructive, and it was healthy.”

“It just felt really untethered,” she said. “It was really sad to say goodbye to that.”

If you missed it, And Just Like That returns for season three THIS week, on Thursday (May 29).
