'The Office' Stars Steve Carell & John Krasinski Surprised 'The Paper' Cast on First Day on Set
Steve Carell and John Krasinski were on hand to crash the set of the first day of filming on The Paper!
Star of the upcoming spinoff Sabrina Impacciatore recently opened up about how the stars of The Office surprised the cast of the new show on their first day on set.

Sabrina, who is a Michael Scott (Carell‘s character) superfan, revealed that it was an early morning in the makeup trailer, where she was getting ready with co-stars Domnhall Gleeson and Chelsea Frei, when there was a knock on the door.
“No makeup yet. We are very anxious. Like, oh my God, we’re so scared. And then we hear, knock, knock,” she told Entertainment Weekly.
“Someone enters the trailer, and it’s Steve Carell and John Krasinski!,” the White Lotus actress added. “We’re fainting. Like, what? Can you imagine? Isn’t it crazy? The first day of shooting!”
Steve and John weren’t just there by chance, they were also filming a commercial right next door for Italian coffee brand Lavazza.
“I thought, this is a blessing. Italian coffee, which is the coffee that I’ve been drinking all my life,” Sabrina said.
The actress also recalled that this wasn’t the first time she met Steve. Her first encounter was backstage when he was starring in Uncle Vanya on Broadway.
“I went to see the show. I went to the green room. I waited for him. He came out. I was shaking. I said, ‘I’m Sabrina! Can you bless me?’” Sabrina shared. “I needed his blessing [for The Paper]! He was the sweetest. He was so warm. He was encouraging me so much. He said, ‘These people are brilliant. You are going to have the best experience of your life. You’re going to be great.’”
“He was giving me confidence,” she added. “I will never forget that. Never. It was so right to do that.”
The Paper, set in the same universe as The Office, is set to debut NEXT Thursday (September 4) on Peacock with the first four episodes. Watch the trailer!
