'The Subway' Lyrics: Chappell Roan Releases Official 2025 Version of Song, One Year After Live Debut – Listen Now!
Chappell Roan‘s song “The Subway” has officially arrived and we have the lyrics for the full 2025 version of the track!
The Grammy winner debuted the song during a live performance at the Governors Ball Music Festival in July 2024 and now the official version is here.
She said on Las Culturistas a few months ago, “I’ve been banging my head against the wall with ‘The Subway,’ because… some songs just work live — certain things work live — and they don’t work in the studio.”
“For ‘The Subway,’ it’s just going to feel different, and different doesn’t always mean worse… You just have to really take yourself out of it and be like, ‘This is different and that’s okay,’” she added.
Well, Chappell got it right and the song sounds amazing!
We have photos of Chappell playing Rapunzel on a New York City balcony while filming the music video a few weeks ago.

Chappell sings on the chorus, “It’s just another day / And it’s not over ’til it’s over, it’s never over (Ah) / It’s just another day / And it’s not over ’til it’s over (Ah) / It’s never over.”
On the outro she sings over and over again, “She’s got, she’s got a way / She’s got a way, she’s got a way.”
